Jackson County, TX… A parade of antique tractors will start the day and pop their way through the park when the “South Texas Wheel Spinners and Crank Twisters Club” kick off the festivities at Lake Texana on July 4th. The Antique Tractor Show and Parade will be part of "Texana Outback Fireworks Extravaganza” over the lake. Beginning at 3:00 PM, food, fun, and music will lead up to the fireworks, visible only from inside Brackenridge Park & Campground off Highway 111, 7 miles east of Edna. Jackson County's Independence Day celebration will include fun for kids of all ages, such as a fish pond, duck pond, toy wheel, children's train, adult train, moonwalk, waterslide, sports arena, and bungee run. Music lovers will enjoy ongoing performances by area talent during the afternoon, patriotic numbers by Texana Community Band, and a concert by The Dedringers on stage prior to the fireworks display. At the moment of the fireworks finale, Bruce Robison will begin our concert and dance. Visitors are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or picnic blankets. No ice chests are allowed: concessions will be available. There is a $5 per carload admission to the park for the event. Additional donations to the fireworks fund will be appreciated.
